The fastest and most powerful Mini ever has just landed on our shores. That’s right, the Mini John Cooper Works GP is now available in the Philippines. Sort of.

We say “sort of” because while the JCW GP is, in fact, already here, it’s already sold out. You see, only 3,000 units of this bad boy will be built across the globe, and Mini Philippines general manager Jeff Lizardo says that all six units allocated for our market have already been reserved.

That’s quite a lot of hype, but we’re not that surprised, because this hot hatch does boast impressive performance. It packs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbopetrol that generates 306hp and 450Nm of torque and is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.

Also worth noting here is that this setup is 75hp more powerful than the regular John Cooper Works. With it, the JCW GP can hit 100kph from a standstill in just 5.2sec, while speed tops out at 265kph. Not too shabby for a small hatch.

In addition to all the design tweaks and under-the-hood upgrades given to this Mini, there are also performance-oriented parts such as the model-specific front and rear aprons, as well as the roof spoiler with a double-wing contour which we reckon will do well for the vehicle’s aerodynamics. It has also been fitted with a high-performance sports brake system underneath.

This three-door, two-seat model comes with a P4,800,000 price tag. Not that it matters, though, because as we said, stocks have already run out. In any case, what do you think of it? Should Mini Philippines bring over a few more units here?
